Evaluation of a Radically Revised ATC Interface
نویسندگان
چکیده
A radically revised ATC (Air Traffic Control) interface, developed from that described at HCI-Aero98, has been evaluated by trials using 26 postgraduate students (native French speakers). Twenty-four out of 26 students were able to control traffic at a nominal rate of 200 aircraft per hour after about one hour of training. All but two of 1620 potential conflicts were resolved correctly. All but five of 10468 aircraft left the simulated area at exactly the time posit ion and height planned. The interface is briefly discussed, and the underlying assumptions and implications are suggested. 1

EEG-based Human Factors Evaluation of Conflict Resolution Aid and Tactile User Interface in Future Air Traffic Control Systems
Currently, Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems are reliable with automation supports, however, the increased traffic density and complex air traffic situations bring new challenges to ATC systems and air-traffic controllers (ATCOs). We conduct an experiment to evaluate the current ATC system and test conflict resolution automation and tactile user interface to be the inputs of the future ATC syst...
متن کاملDesign and Evaluation of a 4d Interface for Atc
The increasing complexity of Air Traffic System is pushing toward the development of innovative and more automated tools conceived to manage it. In this scenario an important role is assumed by HCI (Human Computer Interfaces) used by air traffic controllers and operators to visualize and interact with air traffic data. Currently, information about 3D scenery are displayed with a two-dimensional...
متن کاملAcute Toxic Class Methods: Alternatives to LD/LC50 Tests.
The Acute Toxic Class (ATC) Methods for the oral, dermal and inhalation routes were developed as alternatives to the respective LD/LC50 Tests. The ATC Methods use at least 40% (and up to 90%) fewer animals and their reliability with respect to classification probabilities into one of several toxicity classes is in the same order of magnitude or even better in comparison to the LD/LC50 Tests. Th...
متن کاملUAS Measured Response: The Effect of GCS Control Mode Interfaces on Pilot Ability to Comply with ATC Clearances
The present study examined the effects of three different control mode interfaces on unmanned aerial system (UAS) pilots’ ability to comply with air traffic controller (ATC) traffic clearances. Pilots controlled a simulated UAS with a waypoint-only interface, an auto-pilot interface and a manual, stick and throttle interface. Researchers recorded pilots’ ‘measured response’ at several stages of...
متن کاملEvaluation of Performance Levels of Zipper-Braced Frames Using Structural Damage Index
The determination of structural and nonstructural damage under earthquake excitations is usually considered as a key factor in performance-based seismic design (PBSD) methods is In this regard, various damage indices have been developed in recent years to quantitatively estimate structural damage. The aim of this study is to develop a simple method to evaluate performance levels of zipper-brace...
